This phase focuses on building the foundational skills necessary for alphabet knowledge and visual discrimination. Students will develop the ability to identify uppercase and lowercase letters, match them accurately, and recite the alphabet in order. They will also practice distinguishing visually similar letters and recognising identical letters in various fonts or sizes. These skills form the groundwork for recognising and using letters in stage 1 for reading and writing.
