STAGE 00 PHASE 1

This phase focuses on reinforcing the foundational skills developed in Phase One. Students practice identifying uppercase and lowercase letters, fluently matching them, and recalling their order in the alphabet. Through engaging activities and games, they solidify their ability to distinguish between similar letters and consistently recognise letter patterns across various fonts and contexts. The emphasis on fluency and automaticity ensures students are ready for the transition to grapheme-phoneme correspondence in Stage 1 reading and writing tasks. This phase supports students in moving from recognition to confident application.
